Wouldn’t it be cool to own an orange LFA? The fact that this color, which we found out about from The Lexus Enthusiast, will be representing the Lexus LFA next week is proof that Lexus is thoroughly enjoying their newfound performance frame of mind.

I think the orange looks more appropriate than the yellow LFA personally.

LFA – Technology That Can Influence The Entire Line of Lexus

The LFA is a car most of us will only see in artist renderings or the occasional auto shows, but this certainly does not mean that Lexus should stick to what they normally sell because the LFA brings a capability and confidence across the entire lineup.

The LFA represents a level of performance and excessive power that contrasts nicely with the level of perfection they’ve put into their luxury models like the Lexus IS F. This is certainly the most potent form, but it testifies to the integrity of their performance ability.

High Performance Sportscars – Too Intense for Everyday Driving

The perspective owners of Lexus LFA’s are currently driving around in Ferraris and such, which by their own definition become too intense to drive after a few days, as I’ve been told. It’s like having an adrenaline rush that won’t subside, and they miss the ability to gracefully roll from a stoplight in a luxurious and comforting fashion.

The Lexus blend of luxury and performance is why many performance minded individuals are finding Lexus to be the solution to the overbearing and demanding high-strung Italian sportscars.

Lexus has never been one to shy away from edgy and innovative cars, both in terms of drivability and design. And on the whole, their vehicles have been highly successful against class rivals like Mercedes, BMW, Infiniti, and Audi. With their ability to offer added value at less cost, they have stolen business from both more expensive luxury vehicles and lower level price-competitors alike in their 20+ years of production. Comfort, sophistication, and speed are the bread and butter of the Lexus lineup and this mentality has allowed the company to virtually trump the opposition. And they look to do it once again with the new LF-A concept car (the latest in their F portfolio), a roadster model of the LFA line that is tentatively set to release in 2012. And as they inform prospective buyers on their website, “F isn’t just a letter, it’s a statement.”

So how do you drive one of these sporty two-seaters? While the LF-A Roadster is currently a blip on the radar of prospective buyers, the coupe version is alive and kicking (with a new and improved model for next year already making the Concours d’Elegance rounds). So you will first need to come up with about $375,000 (base price) in order to buy one of the offerings currently on the market (buyers for the new models will be selectively chosen this year, with production set to start in December). From there, you might want to rent a racetrack, because this car can really move. With a 4.8-liter V10 pumping out an incredible 552 horsepower and top speed listed at 202 mph, you’re bound to find yourself the recipient of speeding tickets galore (if they can catch you), especially considering the lightweight carbon-fiber body construction. But even if you decide to reign yourself in, you can still feel the raw power of this massive engine by gunning it when you enter freeway traffic (from 0 to 60 in 3.6 seconds).

While you can certainly tool around town in this expensive toy, it’s pretty clear that the car was made for racetrack performance. Measures have been taken to ensure reduced weight (aluminum and titanium engine parts), better handling (a dry-sump lubrication system keeps oil flowing for tight corners taken at high speeds), and rapid response (the V10 feels like a V12…and reportedly weighs less than their 3.5-liter V6 engine). But since the automobile is available to consumers (possibly inexperienced in the arena of high-performance driving), Lexus has also added safety features to temper the beast, such as a dynamically forgiving front-engine layout.

Of course, beyond all of its qualifications as a vehicle not to be trifled with when the red-light revving begins, the LFA also offers all of the comfort and styling inherent to the brand. The sleekly styled, low-slung exterior just looks fast, like it might simply launch into outer space at any second. And the interior cradles driver and passenger alike with molded, two-tone seats separated by a long center console so that they feel like individual pods meant to keep you snug as a bug on sharp turns. All in all, the F portfolio has taken Lexus to a whole other level, pitting them against the uppermost echelons of elite-class cars. And with looks that could kill and a monster of an engine on their side, the LFA may be the model that can do no wrong.

Sarah Danielson writes for a trucking company called Trucker to Trucker. The company is making a considerable effort to go green. You can visit their website to find trucks for sale and you can even sell trucks.

Lexus LFA, originally uploaded by GHG Photography.

Found a nice shot of a Lexus LFA – not crazy about yellow but for some reason this picture just looks like pure adrenaline.
I think it could be the green in the background, and the obscure and random location, but that car is just begging to be driven.

2011 Lexus LFA is a sports car, a supercar, one that not only has the awe of everyone in the industry, Lexus LF-A is one that has given itself a standard in which net worth isn’t enough to have one.

Who will get to lease the coveted Lexus LF-A? This could be one of the most exciting and anticipated events to occur in recent automotive history if Lexus picks it’s owners correctly.

The new LFA costs nearly half a million dollars. But more importantly, Lexus says that money isn’t the only exchange here as they seek an LFA owner that will drive the car.

To be considered worthy of owning an LFA, put away your American Express Black. Lexus is looking for something more than cash, and this could truly send demand through the roof for some of the world’s wealthiest car aficionados.

Certainly there are those who can and will pay the fee. They’ll honor the Lexus agreement and drive the LFA as indicated, but what Lexus could be after is the ultimate of testimonials.

The testimonial that will tell the story of a Lexus LF-A owner from a perspective of not entitlement, but of gratitude.

Behind the wheel of an LFA would be hyper awareness and at the same time having a poise to articulate for others what that experience provides.

I can predict that driving an LFA would be an experience you would reflect upon in thousandths of a second. Imagine precision steering adjustments at 150 MPH with complete confidence and achievement.

The self-discipline of being in formation, what being a fighter pilot might feel like.

Some can afford anything and everything, and some really appreciate vehicles despite their deep pockets.

It’s going to be exciting to see what some select owners will do to get their hands on one, especially if owning one comes with some unique privileges.
