Perhaps one of the most popular types of threads (a thread is the term used to describe a series of responses to a particular post) is about which wheels and tires to consider buying.

A high-performance version of the 2011 Lexus IS sport sedan, the Lexus IS F has all the quality and luxury of the Lexus IS, but presented in an aggressive package that puts the driver in control and the world at his command.

Lexus IS F – Aggressive Driving Machine

Perhaps the brashest feature of the Lexus IS F is its 5.0 L direct-injected 2UR-GSE V8 engine which produces 416 SAE horsepower.

The two-stage intake system, engine oil and automatic transmission fluid coolers as well as an oil pump combine for high-speed cornering. Combined with the all-electric rack and pinion steering system, which has a 13.6:1 gear ratio, this means that the Lexus IS F hugs the road as if it were a part of it, while its 8-speed Sport Direct Shift (SPDS) automatic transmission ensures that the driver maintains control of the driving process at all times.

The body of the Lexus IS was lowered by 1 cm in the design of the IS F and the hood bulges up slightly in order to make room for the 5.0 liter V8 engine.

The bulbous hood combined with the wire-mesh grille, side fenders, skirts and side air vents gives the IS F a distinctively predatory appearance, especially when it can go from) to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds.

But aggressive performance and design does not mean a compromise in safety. The Lexus IS F has a four-passenger cabin with bucket seats in the front and rear ensuring that everyone riding in the vehicle can experience the powerfully smooth ride and optimum performance.

While the Lexus IS F contains all the features that come standard with the Lexus IS, including power windows, power doors and power mirrors, dual zone climate control, a power tilt and telescoping steering column, a power tilt-and-slide moon roof, cruise control and dual-chrome exhaust tips, it also has a perforated leather trimmed interior as well as a voice-activated navigation system, Bluetooth technology, a Mark Levinson sound system with premium Surround Sound Audio, iPod/USB connectivity, a standard XM Satellite Radio, but an all-new performance-focused instrument display with a centrally positioned tachometer.
