Lexus has announced some 2011 Lexus IS 250 and Lexus IS 350 model year product changes and price announcements. Some of the most notable being the all-wheel drive option for the Lexus IS 350, and the optional F Sport package for the Lexus IS 350.

Lexus IS 250 – Lexus IS 350

The Lexus IS model has received some revised styling changes along with an all-new Lexus IS 350 300hp and AWD model as well as a new optional factory F sport package. This combination is very exciting because it’s the first time the Lexus IS 350 has been available in all-wheel-drive.

For the 2011 Lexus IS 250 – the one thing that has not changed is the base MSRP! This focus on enhancing the IS 250 model making it more attractive and competitive in the luxury car market without increasing its price is a big win for Lexus customers.

New Lexus IS 250 and Lexus IS 350 styling enhancements

For 2011 the exterior enhancements include new unique front bumper and front grille with a new tail and cover and graphics and a revised exhaust tip. Also, new 17 inch and 18 inch wheels have been changed to become more aggressive looking and stylish.

Lexus IS Model Gets Three New Colors

Cerulean Blue (replaces breakwater blue)
Deep Sea Mica (replaces Black Sapphire Pearl)
Ultrasonic Blue (only on F sport package models)

Amber Perl and Truffle Mica will be discontinued in 2011 models

In addition the interior has some silver accents that have been placed throughout giving enhanced accent features to the glovebox, steering wheel, tachometer, and speedometer. Also, the door armrests and center console have a silver trim and a new standard black metallic finish to give a sporty look.

Lexus IS F Sport Package

For the first time the Lexus IS will be the first to offer the factory F Performance sport package on RWD A/T models. This replaces the 2010 sport package and a superior value and improved performance.

The F Sport inspired package gets 18 inch F Sport wheels with dark super chrome finish (your choice of summer or all season tires) front lip and rear deck spoilers, F Sport fender badge, and upper lower grille inserts.

Interior wise, you get F Sport:

Heated sports seats with microfiber insert leather bolsters
Silver metallic ornamentation on the steering wheel
Silver metallic shift knob
Scuff plates and sport pedals

Suspension wise, you get F Sport:

Sport tuned suspension by the same team that developed the LFA.
Revised rear subframe mount with unique spring shock tuning
Enhanced EPS tuning to deliver great handling and ride balance

Lexus IS 350 AWD Option Is Finally Here!

Perhaps one of the most exciting updates being the option of all-wheel drive for the IS 350. At around 300 hp, the Lexus IS 350 AWD is an awfully nice feature to tack on. This now gives a significant power advantage over Mercedes-Benz C 300, Audi A4 2.0 L Quattro AWD, and provides good competition to the BMW 328xi and 335xi.

2011 Lexus IS Option and Package Changes

2011 IS is the first Lexus to debut LED daytime running lights as part of a HID package. The adaptive front lighting system is discontinued.

On Lexus IS 350 models HID with LED daytime running lights, washers are now standard.

Pre-collision system with dynamic radar cruise control option is discontinued.

The 2010 Lexus IS 250 AWD has been an award winner since it’s new design debuted in 2006. This entry luxury class vehicle was named Executive Car of the Year in 2006 by Britian’s popular Top Gear Magazine.

This sleek design from Lexus has been a booming success for Lexus with a 332% increase overall in 2006 when the new version arrived.

It’s quite clear that people wanted something more compact in size, but still have the attractiveness of a luxury car both interior and exterior wise.

The AWD version of the IS 250 is quite competent in the snow and slippery road conditions. Having AWD also means the car isn’t going to spin the tires and you’re sure to get a good burst of speed should you need one.

The Lexus IS safety is typical with the dual front, knee, rear side curtain and side torso airbags. In the case of a collision your IS interior cushions you from every direction imaginable, so getting five starts in side impact and rollover categories wasn’t a surprise.
